Spiced Fruit Compote

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 1/2 cups pitted dried prunes
  • 1 1/2 cups dried apricot halves
  • 1/2 cup pitted dates
  • 3 slices lemon
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 2 inch cinnamon stick
  • dash allspice

METHOD

  1. In a 2 quart saucepan, combine all ingredients with 2 1/2 cups water.
  2. Bring to boiling; reduce heat; simmer uncovered 15 minutes.

Serve warm.
