A French village is virtually frozen in time and kept that way by its conservative leading citizen (Molina). Into this rigid community come a chocolatier (Binoche) and her daughter, whose free-spirited ways and tempting delicacies turn the town on its ear. Meant to be charming but hopelessly contrived in spite of a fine cast. (Our note: Oh Leonard Maltin, just enjoy the campiness … it’s delicious!)(PG-13)
