When we started out, back in 1982, "bulk food" was a new concept to the consumers of the day. This article appeared in the Cambridge paper a few months after we opened our first store there on Hespeler Road (later sold). Bulk food took some bad press in the early days and a few operators justifiably didn't make the cut - but decades later it's still a popular way to shop.
