Foodstuffs has been so many things to me over my lifetime in Georgetown. It was the place we'd go to buy candies with my babysitter and the spot I'd joyously join my parents to fill up our ketchup and peanut butter from those cool machines when I was a child. It was my first job and my first group of girlfriends outside of school. It was my summer oasis, and my safe place. Foodstuffs is where I learned responsibility, team work and business. It is where I perfected my skills in nacho art, allergen substitution and how to ice a cake like a master. It is where I nursed my broken heart(s), where I laughed until I cried and where I grew, I'd wager more than I understand yet. With everything that it has been, and will continue to be, it's easy to see why these days I bring my toddler in whenever I visit from Toronto -- so he can start his education early!
