From "What's Cooking" circa 1940s.
- 4 oranges
- 3 lemons
- 4 lb sugar
- 2 quarts water
- 2 ounces citric acid
- Grate rind from oranges, add to sugar and water and boil for one minute.
- Add juice of lemons and oranges and citric acid.
- Let stand for 24 hours and bottle cold.
- To serve, mix with water.
