The Vancouver Sun, 1955 - From the Collection of Marg Dye
- 30 ripe tomatoes
- 6 peaches
- 3 green peppers
- 6 large onions
- 6 pears
- one quart white vinegar
- 3 cups white sugar
- 2 Tbsp salt
- 1/4 cup pickling spice tied in a bag
- Peel and put through the food chopper to chop coarsely, then add white vinegar, sugar salt and pickling spice.
- Boil all together for 2 hours or more.
- Pour into hot sterilized jars and seal.
